Answer / Anand Pandey

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) share some similarities but have distinct differences. RA is characterized by symmetrical joint involvement, morning stiffness, and the presence of rheumatoid factor or anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies in the majority of cases. PsA often presents with asymmetrical joint involvement, enthesitis (inflammation of the tendon insertions), dactylitis (swelling of the entire digit), and nail psoriasis. Diagnosis requires clinical evaluation, laboratory tests, and imaging studies. Treatment for both conditions may involve DMARDs, biologic agents, and non-pharmacological interventions.
