What is imsi in gsm technology?..

Answer / Kshitij Kumar Pandey

IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) is a unique identifier assigned to each mobile subscriber in the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) network. The IMSI number is used by the network to identify and authenticate the subscriber during call setup and other operations.nThe IMSI consists of 14 digits, with the first three digits representing the country code, followed by the mobile network code (MNC), and a mobile station international subscriber directory number (MSISDN) or personal identity number (PIN).nDuring call setup, the IMSI is transmitted between the mobile phone and the network in encrypted form to ensure privacy and prevent unauthorized access.
