Differentiate between regression and classification algorithms?

Regression algorithms are used to predict a continuous outcome variable, while classification algorithms are used to predict a categorical outcome variable. Regression models include linear regression, logistic regression, and polynomial regression, among others. Classification models include decision trees, k-nearest neighbors, support vector machines, and Naive Bayes.
