Oracle Flexible ASM (Flex ASM) is a new storage management feature in Oracle Database 12c. It allows you to manage multiple disk groups across multiple hosts from a central metadata repository. Flex ASM uses a shared pool of disk space and automatic disk group creation, making it easier to manage large numbers of disks.
