Explain eigenvalue and eigenvector

In linear algebra, an eigenvalue is a scalar value that determines the rate of growth or decay of a system when it's disturbed. An eigenvector is the corresponding non-zero vector associated with an eigenvalue that indicates the direction of this growth or decay.
