Are expected value and mean value different?
Answer / Antesh Kumar Manjhi
Expected value (mathematical expectation) and mean value (arithmetic mean) are closely related. In a discrete set of observations, the expected value is the sum of each observation multiplied by its probability, while the mean value is simply the average of all observations if they have equal probabilities. In a continuous distribution, the expected value integrates the function over the entire range.
