Extended reminders in Outlook allow users to set alerts for tasks across multiple Task Folders. To create a new task with an extended reminder, right-click on the desired folder and select 'New Task'. In the task window, fill out the necessary details and click on 'Options'. Here, you can set the 'Start Date', 'Due Date', 'Reminder' options, and under 'Set Reminders', check the box for 'Repeat reminders at these times'. This will enable extended reminders. Users can also create subfolders within Task Folders to better organize their tasks.
