The Sliding Window Protocol is a method for sending data in packets over a communication channel. It allows multiple packets to be 'in flight' between sender and receiver, increasing the efficiency of the transmission. The size of the window (number of outstanding packets) can be dynamically adjusted depending on network conditions.
