TAO (The Architecture of CORBA) is a vendor-neutral implementation of the OMG's CORBA (Common Object Request Broker Architecture). On the other hand, TAO from DOC (Distributed Computing Objects) is an open-source implementation of TAO. They share similar functionalities but may have differences in terms of features, support, and licensing.
