Give each computer a static ip address in same range if just
connecting machines together.
With OS , the likes of server 2003, the server has fixed ip
and the clients obtain via DHCP their ip at the login to domain.

Hi,
By making use of console port one can network the computers
together with the switch by configuring Vlan by
differentiating networks through configuring Int#fa01 with
one network and Int#fa02 with another network in this
manner one can design n number of networks clubbed together
with the help of switch configuration.
