The wire is disconnected from the temperature sending unit
(magnetic gauge). A voltmeter connected to the wire reads
0v. What does this indicate?
Answer Posted / nikhil patil
While transmitting the signal the concept of active and
live zero is used.Generally 1V to 5V is standerd signal
range.voltmeter will read 1v when input to the system is
minimum (active zero)and voltmeter will read 0V when wire
is disconnected.Hence troubleshouting becomes easy.
