What is the meaning of burden and class of accuracy of CT?
Answer Posted / poorvalingam
1.Burden is the actual load can handle by the C.T in (KVA)
Eg: the C.T need to operate the relay for fault tripping if the relay has 12 Va means the C.T burden must be greater than the relay load to over come the cable loss. it may be 15 va C.T enough
2.Accuracy class means , it says the % Errorof the C.T from no load to 120% of load for metering purpose and above the full load current for Protection C.T
