in mosfet we have different types like enhancement and
depletion.but why do we preffer enhancement over dpletion

Enhancement type is normally OFF .that means we have to
apply Gate voltage to ON the circuit .
depletion type is normally ON.we have to apply gate voltage
to switch it off.
therefore power dissipation is more in case of depletion type when compared to enhancement type
thus enhancement type is preferred over depletion type
