Simultaneous trip of incoming and outgoing breakers of
400kv/220kv trnasformer. What are the probable causes?
Answer Posted / raj kumar
Incomer side or outgoing side current transformer terminals connected wrongly by mistake.so reverse current will flow in the secondary.secondary is connected to the metering device and protective devices.so protective devices will sense the reverse current flow.if that current reaches certain level, this protective device trip the circuit breaker.
If both side CB's are tripping simultaneously means transformer winding side only fault happened.

How do i perform grounding of star point of Genset (400V) for making connection with step up transformer of DELTA-DELTA (400V to 20KV) ? while Genset itself has its own neutral and grounding bus bar inside genset breaker box whereas we have another neutral and grounding busbar in synchronizing panel next to genset at maximum distance of 6meter, would someone pls advice if we can only perform neutral grounding in synchronizing panel or should we ground neutral on both places inside genset breaker box and synchronizing panel.

need to make a report. Need to choose a 3phase induction motor. Load conditions motor will operate in : Maximum Load: 30 Kw Speed: 2950 rpm Ambient temp: 20 cent Supply voltage: 440V Frequency: 50Hz need to look for the safety factor when choosing the motor, went through catalouge found a few, but dont know how to choose the safety factor allowing an extra load something above 30 KW to avoid any harm.
