PH of water will indicate the characteristic of water. Normal water has ph value 7, weather it will decrease the water change as acid.If it will raise above 7 the water will change as base. Further raising of ph above 10.2 it will leads the caustic embitterment. This will form in inner surface of boiler tubes as scale which was heat resident. Due this scale the heat transfer rate will be decreased by increasing the layer thickness in the tube. Overheating of tube will occur. because of overheating tube will be damaged. so that boiler water PH should be with in limits between 9.6-10.5
