how many 1st class bricks in 1cu feet?

Answer Posted / waseem ahmed

in Pakistan
13.5 bricks are considered in one cubic feet as standard, because of uneven brick size, normally if the standard size is taken (9"X4.5"X3") it becomes 121.5 cubic feet and if you convert 1 cubic feet it will be 1728" (12"X12"X12"), on dividing 1728/121.5= 14.2 bricks in one cubic feet, and if you exclude 25% mortar from cubic inches(1728) it will be 1296, now if you divide cubic inches with standard brick volume 121.5 you will get 10.6 bricks in a cubic feet, but due to uneven and improper shaping which varies from city to city and more breakage during logistic a 27% wastage is calculated on the number of bricks which is almost 13.54, there fore it is considered in Pakistan 13.5 bricks in a cubic feet.
