Please explain the difference between instrument range and
calibration range in terms of pressure transmitter?
line design pressure: 93 bar
operating pressure : 82 bar
press Transmitter Range?
calibration range ?
Answer Posted / ahmed helmy
- instrument range is the maximum range of instrument.
- Calibration range is at which the instrument calibrated
for example
- if we have a pressure tx instrument range 0:10 bar
- we can calibrate it at any position between 0:10 bar suppose we calibrate it at 0:4 bar its mean its calibration range
is 0:4bar and instrument range 0:10 bar
Based on your case:
- line design pressure=93 bar (max pressure in the line)
- operating pressure=82 bar
so we can install pressure tx range:0 to 120 bar and calibrate the pressure tx in range from 0 to 93 bar
