why Transformer and DG rating capacity is in KVA

Answer Posted / muthuvel

Actually Dg and Transformer Supplying Apparent power only . At the load point only power is segregated by real and reactive power. The Apparent power measured by the unit of kVA(Kilo Volt Ampere),the True power measured by the unit of KW,the reactive power measured by the unit of kVAR(Kilo volt ampere with reactive component). For that reason only DG and Transformer ratings are in KVA.
