Difference bet grounding and earthing are one of the most confused and misunderstood concept. there is difference bet earthing and grounding.
GROUNDING:-In grounding ckt of machines are grounding to provide an effective return path from the machine to the power source. ex:-Neutral point of star connected motor.
EARTHING:-Earthing is said to have accomplished through bounding of metallic system to earth. It is normally achieved by inserting grounding rod or other electrode deep inside the earth. The purpose of earthing is to minimize risk of receiving an electric shock if touching metal part to the body when a fault is present.
