how we can measure the interface level?is it possible to
measure interface level with dp or pressure transmitter?

Answer Posted / m m chotrani

Yes we can measure interface level by purge method.you can
use two purges (sensors of ss pipe generally 1/4"NB).Now
for interface measurement two liquids of different
densities should be there. suppose the interphase takes
place between 300 and 450 mm height from the bottom of the
tank.now the interface be 50%. height difference (probe
distance is 150 mm. multiply 150 withe density of 1st
liquid say 0.8 gm/cc.which will be 120mm. and multiply 150
with the density of another liquid with the density say 1.2
gm/cc which is 180 mm.So your transmitter range is 120-180
mm of water column. calibrate the transmitter for this
range and connect both the probes to HP and LP connections
of transmitters
