how to calculate power factor of capacitor?
what is transformer rating?
Answer Posted / ram
Pf is the cosine of the angle by which the current leads
voltage ( or vice versa as cos(-th)=cos(th)) .So in order to
find the PF connect an AC power supply , a wattmeter and
ammeter in series with the cap with a voltmeter across it .
The real power measured by the wattmeter divided by
current*Voltage gives the power factor. Ideally the pf is 0
for cap as current leads voltage by 90
