If DC is applied to transformer its winding will act as
source of unidirectional flux which causes core saturation
(if DC supply of sufficient magnitude is applied
continuosly).Thee will not be indused EMF in either
winding.Due to this reason transformers are not used in DC
supply .

current transformer balance the power level on both sides. e.g in case of step up, at secondary side voltage rise but current decrease and vice versa in case of step down transformer. but how this power level remains same in case of current transformer and voltage transformer
