In the said case that, if the rotor of the induction motor
is purely inductive then the electromagnetic torque:-
in that case the rotor current (I2) lags behind the rotor
emf (E2) by an angle > = tan-1 X2/R2.
R2= Rotor Resistance/Phase.
X2= Rotor Reactance/Phase, at standstill.
So it is seen that forward torque & backward torque will
equal & if angle is 90 deg. then total torque will be zero.
