well all the people who answered this please note that an
idmt relay is different from an inverse realy in the manner
that it shows the inverse operating behaviour only uptill
the pick up value is attained and after that it attains a
constant operating behaviour that is its operating time
becomes independent of the magnitude of the fault current .

If any HVDC line is going with positive & negative(the negative usually have return path of current with earthing electrode).
