While performing load test on DC SERIES MOTOR, does the
voltage decrease slightly. Why?

while comparing with the other motors during load test,the
fall in voltage level of the dc series motor is low.this is
because of the series connection of the armature & field
winding.
The load torque developed by the other dc motor is
proportional to the Ia & flux(phi).But for series motor, it
is square of the Ia. so, for the same armature current dc
series motor develops more torque than the other dc motors.
i.e series motor draws comparatively less current from the
supply for the same load torque developed by the other dc
motors.As the current level decreases, the drop in voltage
level also decreases (IR drop).clear.....friend.....
