IN CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN WHY WE ARE USING LIMIT STATE
METHOD IS BEST?
I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS BEST?
EX; FOR COLOUMN DESIGN IN LIMIT STATE METHOD AST
IS;1913SQ.MM
SAME TIME WORKING STRESS METHOD IS ;2213.
SO I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS VERY STRONG COMPARE
THEN LIMIT STATE METHOD?
MY OPENING IS CORRECT OR NOT? PLS TO EXPLAIN SIRS

working stress design is more conservative than limit state
method.concrete being a brittle material high factor of
safety is adopted (i.e-3).it is a stress approach,in case of
limit state partial factor of safety is used load is
factored and this a strain approach.
