When a square wave is applied to primary of a transformer
then what will be output wave form of secondary ?
Answer Posted / shashank dixit
well, acc. to me ac waveform at input is must for a
transformer...now if we calculate the average value of a
square wave ,then we get a zero value which shows that
square wave is a pure ac wave...hence it can be fed to the
transformer and the output will be a square waveform with
increased or decreased magnitude compared to that of the
input waveform............but then again it will also depend
on time interval the square wave has +ve and -ve
durations.....increase in this duration may cause damage to
transformer(depending upon the transformer) since on
increasing the duration the transformer will take as dc wave..
