but transformer is provided with neutral.

If the system neutral is not grounded then during unbalanced
condition or during any faulty condition the excess current
will flow through the phases.During the condition of neutral
shifting the the current will flow into the system
itself.This will lead to damage to the equipment and the to
the personal working with the system.
