why it is in star to delta form of Synchrounus generator
and delta to star form of Generator Transformer (or step up
transformer)
Answer Posted / suhas
after generating voltage, it has to be transmitted....to
transmit we use delta connection as it needs only 3 wires
which saves money...steppin up of voltage is done to
decrease losses in transmission...so step up transformer
has Y-del connection...in the receiving end(step down) we
can use del-del or del-Y...by using del-Y connection we hv
d flexibility of selecting the 3 phase and 1 phase
voltage... this method is done usually for
distribution...for further transmisssion, in swithing sub
stations, the step down trafo will be del-del....with
tertiary as star.....
