Is there a necessity for providing expansion joints in long
RCC structure(say a wall of a water retaining structure)-
say approximately 50 metres in length and about 4 metres
high? What will be the limitations?

we should not provide expansion joint in long rcc str .
because in undermined str like water tank ,there will no
seasonal temp changes.
but we should keep check for reinforcement detail
as ther will no provision for 30-50m
slab ,expansion joint..........
