What is negative phase sequence?
Answer Posted / sunil kumar sinha
In a three phase AC circuit, current is consetuted of
positive sequence, negative sequence and zero sequence
current.
the positive phase sequence current flows as perr the load
connected to the circuit. The negative phase sequence
current will flow due to diffence of three phase volages of
the system. If no difference of R Y B voltage is present,
the negative sequence current will not flow. The negative
phase sequence current present in the circuit will be of
same frequency but the phase sequence will be negative to
the system sequence. Negative sequence current will cause
excessive heating of generator rotor as the rotor will
experience double the system frequency so far the negative
sequence current is concerned. The zero sequence current is
present only in case of earth fault otherwise it is absent.

1. for eg, capacitor is used for many purposes(it act as filter, oscillator, bypass capacitor, memory storage etc...) 2. Please tell me some example circuits for different uses of capacitor( whenever and whereever and however we used capacitor as a filter, oscillator tuning etc..) 3. similarly for inductor and resistors(it act as what?) and when and how we want to act as like that?, and how we can used these components depends upon our requirments with example circuits and explanation? design to act as these components depends

3 shows a 415 V, 3-phase generator supplying a 3-phase 415/110 V transformer. Draw the individual and combined impedance diagrams to a base of 10 kVA. Determine the system fault kVA and the fault currents at the 415 V and 110 V busbars for short circuit faults on the transformer input or output terminals. Work in p.u. values of impedances.
