Explain the modulation technique used in gsm.

Answer Posted / sameer

GMSK modulation is a type of MSK which itself is a type of
Phase Shift Keying. One of the problems with PSK is that
the side bands extend out from the carrier. To overcome
this, MSK and its derivative GMSK are used.MSK and GMSK are
both modulations known as Continous Phase Scheme. Here there
are no discontinuities because frequency changes occur at
the CARRIER ZERO Crossing Points.
