Hai vishwa,
you are considering only the resistive load but
actually most of the loads are motor loads(resistive +
inductive).
when you give low voltage to induction motor,the speed
as well as toque are reduced.becoz,torque is directly
proportional to square of the applied voltage.so,the motor
tries to produce the required load torque comparatively at
higher slip for the same load .Thereby,it draws higher
current from the supply. clear..........
