Yes a machine with a single DNS name can have multiple IP
addresses. Ip-address is assigned to a particular interface,
say u have a server with 3 interfaces eth0,eth1,eth2. eth0
have a IP-address and its DNS entry exist. For external
traffic outside the periphery of your LAN or managment it
can be used. for other interfaces you can have a default
route configured for traffic to go through, no need to have
a DNS entry for it.
