IN CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN WHY WE ARE USING LIMIT STATE
METHOD IS BEST?
I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS BEST?
EX; FOR COLOUMN DESIGN IN LIMIT STATE METHOD AST
IS;1913SQ.MM
SAME TIME WORKING STRESS METHOD IS ;2213.
SO I THINK WORKING STRESS METHOD IS VERY STRONG COMPARE
THEN LIMIT STATE METHOD?
MY OPENING IS CORRECT OR NOT? PLS TO EXPLAIN SIRS
Answer Posted / britto/ram/saravanan
in WORKING STRESS METHOD,(for ex, if we want to use M20
grade in any place we will use M15 grade), that is minimise
the characteristic strength of the material, this is taken
when u r in designing stage.
in LIMIT STATE METHOD (for ex, we have design a member
takes 1 ton in this method we take 1.5 ton) in this method
we will take the actual charateristic strengtn of the
material.
