what is the difference between drift current and diffusion
current.
Answer Posted / sruthi aravind
In a PN junction diode atfirst there will be a
concentration gradient is present.because of that there
will be movement of charge carriers.that is diffusion.as
the result of this a current flow will takes place and that
current is diffusion current.
under the influence of an electric field(or the biased
condition)the electrons in n region will move to p region
and vocecersa.thus a current flow will takes place.that
current is known as drift current.
In equilibrium, both the drift current and diffusion
current is equal.
