instrument transformers are used to measure high voltage

range of certain instrument used for measuring are
limited if it increase beyond limit the instrument gets
damaged.
to avoid this for high voltage & current instrument
transformers are used.
they are ciassified in two types.
1.current transformer.
2.potential transformer.

why +24 v and -48 v give to BTS? If -48v protect from surge then why we not use -24 v?
