It is biggest in length and dia... main reasons are..
1.To connect the earthing first.. instead of phase... so if
there is any internal short in the equipment... it willl
not harm to the operator.
2. To provide least resistance path.
3. As the short circuit currents are high... it must have
high cross sectional area...
