What is power factor? Whether it should be high or low ?
why?
Answer Posted / gunjan
power=VI cosX
=> I= power/(V CosX)
for low values of P.F. the current increases leading to
more copper losses (I*I*R) and hence heating. more losses
lead to low effeciency of the system as whole which is not
desirable.
