What is power factor? Whether it should be high or low ?
why?
Answer Posted / vivek gupta
power factor is the cosine angle betweem voltage &
current,In my view current charges inductor coil during
induction through reactive power,so we provide capacitive
power to maintain power factor ,during this process voltage
charges capacitor so current again lead voltage and we got
good power factor .
P=VICOS (PI),WHERE VOLTAGE &POWER IS CONSTT.
IT MEANS CURRNT IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO COS(PHI)
IT MAEANS IF COS PI DEC. ,THEN CURRENT WILL INCREASE
THAT IS HARMFULL FOR OUR GEN WDG
