what is skin type thermocouple?
how it is installed?
what is the difference b/w thermocouple & skin type
thermocouple?
what is gounded & non-grounded thermocoplle?
what is the diff b/w these two?
Answer Posted / mohamed rasik
skin type t/c:
this is one type of thermocouple used to measure surface
temprature of a body.
installation:
skin type thermocouple is directly welded to the surface
to which we have to measure the temperature with thermally
insullating pad,so that only surface temperature is to
collected rather than surrounding air temperature.
diff b/w skin type t/c from other t/c:
1.thermowell is no need in skin type
2.mass will be low in skin type
grounded thermocouple:
the junction of the thermocouple is welded to sheath of
the t/c
un-grounded thermocouple
The welded wire thermocouple is physically insulated from
the thermocouple sheath
diff b/w grounded and un grounded type:
1.in grounded type, the temp response is fast
2.in ungrounde type, electrical isolation from the sheath
