During the programming phase, the development team should
have mechanisms in place to ensure that coding is being
developed to standard and is working correctly. Unit tests
are key elements of that process in that they ensure that
individual programs are working correctly. They would
normally be supported by code reviews. Stress tests,
regression tests and acceptance testing would normally occur
later in the development and testing phases. As part of the
process of assessing compliance with quality processes, IS
auditors should verify that such reviews are undertaken.
