In case of a beam ,main steel is provided along the longer
span because, bending moment is directly proportional to
length but why in case of one way slab main steel is
provided along shorter span while as bending takes place
along longer span?comment

The Bending moment in Oneway slab along shorter span is
much lesser than the longer span. It proportional to the
square of the span of the slab. Even we can have main steel
along the longer span but it leads to uneconomical.
