What is the diffrence between head & total head in pump
Answer Posted / nader moustafa
The discharge head of the pump is equal to the summation of
static head and friction head in the discharge pipe.
However ; the pump total head is equal to the summation of
static head and the friction head in the suction and
discharge pipe.
N.B. Static head = Is the vertical distance between the
water level in the suction and discharge tanks.
friction head = is the head loss due to pipe friction and
fittings.
