What is field catalog. Describe the purpose of it?

Field catalog is used to populate the list header .we can
change them as per ur requirement.
To prepare field catalog certain fields are
essential .They are :
Fieldname : Internal table field
tabname : Internal table name
seltext_m : Selection text in the field
ref_tabname : referrence table name.
