Use of testing metrics is :
Often encouraged by the organization :(
AND
Ofen discouraged by the testers :)
Because they feel that organization may use these metrics
against them.
There are a no. of metrics collected after a testing
process is over.
Like :
1. Number of remarks(Claims made by tester that application
showed an unexpected behaviour)
2. Number of defects(Remarks accepted by dev. as defects)
3. Defect severity index.(average of the severity of
defects found)
4. Time to find a defect.
5. Test coverage
6. Test case effectiveness
7. Defects/KLOC
8. defect category
9. Residual defect density(estimate of the no. of defects
that may have been unresolved in the product phase)
10. Defect remark ratio
n many more..

You have a testing team of 10 members, and now you have to reduce it by 5 member and you dont want to increase risk in your product, you are try to cover all functionality to test. What test Strategy you follow.

hi everybody, iam Adi Durga, i complited my bsc(computers) in 2008.I have experience in finacial and bpo companys(mnc). but iam intersted on s/w role.I have the technical skills c, c++, Oracle 9i and manual testing. But i dont know hoe to strat my career in s/w. Every company offering on financial/bpo side. In this I attended nearly 10 companies,I selected in 8. All those are bpo and finacial, But i cant get any opportunities on s/w side.plz help how to get opportunites on s/w side. Actually I am interested on testing side.
