SAP APO PPDS supports multi-level routings and provides options for multiple alternative operations at each work center in a bill of material (BOM). During the detailed scheduling process, the system evaluates all possible routes for a given product based on available resources and time constraints. If an operation cannot be performed due to unavailability of required resources or capacity, SAP APO PPDS will automatically select a suitable alternative operation within the defined set.
