In OO-ABAP, there are two main types of classes: ABSTRACT CLASS and REGULAR CLASS. An abstract class cannot be instantiated and its purpose is to serve as a base for other derived classes. A regular class can be instantiated, inherited, and it may or may not have abstract methods.
