Explain the difference between basic scheduling and lead time scheduling? : supply chain management
Answer Posted / Sumesh Kumar Gangwar
Basic scheduling, also known as finite capacity scheduling, considers the availability of resources such as machinery, labor, and materials to determine an optimal production sequence. On the other hand, Lead Time Scheduling calculates production dates based on the lead time of each operation, regardless of resource availability. This method is used for operations with longer lead times or when there are no capacity constraints.
