To update Memcached when data changes, you need to implement a technique called touch-expire or eviction policy:
1. Touch-Expire: In this method, the client updates the expiration time of the cache every time data is accessed. This ensures that the data in the cache stays up-to-date as long as it's being accessed frequently.
2. Eviction Policy: When the cache reaches its maximum capacity, an eviction policy such as LRU (Least Recently Used) or LFU (Least Frequently Used) is used to remove old data and make room for new updates.
